Shots of her to sell her portfolio, and decides to contact some cheap photographers. Overall a very good sequel, perhaps even better than the original. These can't be easy roles for the actresses to undergo but they are taking them on with determination and Monroe's obviously directing them perfectly. I didn't think she was quite as perfectly suited to the role as Sarah Butler was, but she more than made up for it with share intensity. Jemma Dallender in the lead role also greatly impressed me. Even though this follows a very similar format to the first film, the two feel nothing alike and you certainly don't get the "seen it all before in the original" feeling at any stage.
Monroe has really impressed me with his filmmaking skills. Director of this and the first one Steven R. People get what's coming to them in the most brutal of fashions. There's a tremendous sense of satisfaction felt at the end. 'Hostel', where people are simply evil for the sake of being evil and almost no justice is done in most cases. In spite of its exploitation it carries very strong feminist overtones.
This is extreme, a sort of "Theater of Cruelty" that Antonin Artaud was doing in Paris in the 1930's, intending to wake our overprotected souls up. The first scene when she looks at the American Embassy and makes a decision not to go home was just very powerful for me, and drove me to write this review.Watch this film if you can approach it with the mindset that this is an art film but one that can appeal to the deepest guts of people and not be generally ignored like art films, and if you can' stomach it then avoid it and don't complain about it.

One can say this series carves out its very own niche an is very cool.The Eastern European setting uses antiquity as a tool for horror and terror. Need anyone's help.The brave and graphic rape scenes, reminiscent of french films in this sort of niche in a genre, like "Baise Moi", are very difficult to watch but we hang on knowing this is a revenge film, and revenge murder has to be morally justifiable so that we can route for the killer in a horror film.
